The Owly Downloader extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

How the Extension Works

When you click the Download button on a supported platform, the extension sends the current page URL to owlysocial.com/stream/ to fetch and return the video file. No personal information is included beyond the video URL you chose to download.

Permissions Explained

• downloads — to save the video file directly to your Downloads folder.
• storage — to remember your preferred download format (MP4 or MP3) locally in your browser. This preference never leaves your device.
• activeTab — to read the URL of the current tab when you click Download in the popup. Only the URL is used; no page content is read.
• host_permissions (owlysocial.com) — to call the owlysocial.com download endpoint that fetches and streams the video back to you.
